The Siesta Chair was designed by Norwegian designer Ingmar Relling. Since its inception, the Siesta has taken the test of every generation and passed. Its durability, comfort, and simple design make it an easy choice for many different settings.
Although durable, any chair declines with age. Luckily, a few pieces comprise the Siesta Chair -- all of which are replaceable. Give your classic, designer chair a new look and feel with the Siesta Chair Replacement Canvas and Cord. This authentic made canvas and cord will accommodate any Siesta chair including Siesta Classic, Siesta Fiora, Siesta Trio, and Siesta Ovis.
Even though we continue our adventure and strive to tell new stories, we are proud to say that our furniture is still made at our factory in Sykkylven, Norway. This is a chapter we don’t want to rewrite. We are convinced that it is only in this way that we can create and design pieces that will last for generations to come – in form, quality and comfort.
Ingmar Relling
Ingmar Relling (1920-2002) was a passionate designer who created a series of functional furniture designs during his long career. He started his career at Rastad & Relling design studio in 1947 before establishing his studio in Sykkylven in 1950. Today, he is considered one of the most significant contributors to the golden era of Scandinavian Design. Simplicity, minimalism, elegance, and uncompromising quality are fundamental concepts in all of Relling’s designs. In 1965, Ingmar Relling designed his most incredible creation: the Siesta chair. It earned him first prize at the Industry Council for Furniture and Furnishing Industry Chair competition the same year. Even the White House was furnished with Ingmar Relling’s Siesta. Today, the Siesta chair is an internationally recognized classic and a Norwegian icon.

I originally purchased the Siesta chair and ottoman in Toronto, Ontario during the 1970’s. I watched the leather slowly deteriorate over the years adding duct tape as needed. I loved the Siesta set and figured it was now time for restoration. Thanks to Eric Lewis and others at Hansen Interiors my wish came true! They provided exceptional service and were a pleasure to deal with. I’m a very satisfied customer and strongly recommend them to anyone who needs their service!
Siesta Chair Replacement Canvas
The canvas is easy to replace and I now have my chair back! It was easy to order from Hansen, the product arrived quickly and it is great to be able to take care of this myself.
Siesta Chair Canvas
Great product and easy to install myself.
Ecstatic
I was delighted to learn that their was a replacement kit for the Westnofa Siesta chair. I purchased my chair in 1979. I has moved with me throughout my professional career which took me to 9 different states and 1 other country. I discovered the replacement kits during a random internet search hoping that I would find a resource somewhere. I did find a company in Madison, WI and while I was looking, I thought perhaps Hansen Interiors carried them. The reason I thought of Hansen was I lived during my high school years on Northwestern Avenue near the Highway 38 intersection, and I knew Hansen carried quality furniture from Norway as well as other northwestern European countries. I spoke with Eric Lewis about the product and the installation process. He told me that his experience was favorable and that I should be able to do it without any major issues. He was correct. The installation was simple. I now have a comfortable new/used Siesta chair. I have cleaned and conditioned the leather at least once a year for the past 44 years and the leather has remained like new. Thank you for your assistance. With kind regards, Frank R Pulice
Good replacement but not perfect
The canvas itself was an exact fit. The paracord had a few patches of outer fray, not something I was expecting for $400. You need a threading needle to get the paracord through the chair slots - these cost around $8 from Amazon. For a $800 purchase supplying a threading needle would have been nice. Overall, generally very well made and not difficult to replace. Someone is making a huge profit here as a piece of sewn canvas and a length of paracord shouldn't cost $400. But overall, I'm happy to be able to renew the chair.
Hansen Interiors
Hi Paul, I am sorry that the paracord had some issues. If it shows and you decide to restring it, let us know, and we can send you a new cord. We will consider the advice of the threading needle.
