Respect for the Past and the Future
With timeless Nordic design as our foundation, Warm Nordic is based on the sustainable idea that great design can be passed down through generations. From the design classics of the 50s and 60s to new long-lasting designs of the highest quality. Created with equal amounts of respect for the past and the future.Warm Nordic combines design visions and Nordic spirit with responsible production and constant awareness of the environment. We have always worked to minimize our environmental footprint and continuously focus on creating improvements at all stages – from raw materials and packaging to energy consumption, recycling and transport.
We endeavor to develop in an even more responsible and sustainable direction constantly. Based on Warm Nordic's Code of Conduct, we commit ourselves and our partners through supplier requirements, expectations of responsibility, and ambitions for a green tomorrow.
Careful Selection of Raw Materials
Warm Nordic selects raw materials, suppliers, and partners with great care. Our ambition is to make even more sustainable and environmental choices in the production of raw materials without compromising on quality, aesthetics, and functionality.Warm Nordic focuses on ensuring that our wood comes from sustainably managed forests and other responsible sources, which is why a growing number of our furniture is FSC® certified (FSC® N0002990). We are also members of FSC Denmark, which works to promote FSC in Denmark and the Nordic countries.
FSC (Forest Stewardship Council®) is a global non-profit organization that works to promote environmental, social, and economic sustainable use of the world's forests. When choosing FSC-certified products, you help care for the world's forests. The FSC label also guarantees that animals and plants are protected and that the people who work in the forest are trained, use proper safety equipment and get a fair salary.
We only use European wood, except for teak, which we get from certified plantations dedicated to clear traceability and where replanting ensures sustainable production. According to the EU's Timber Regulation, all wood has been legally purchased and harvested.
All products containing MDF, chipboard, and plywood are made according to the new TSCA rules that ensure low formaldehyde emissions.
All textiles for Warm Nordic's upholstered furniture come from leading suppliers, and most carry the EU Ecolabel, which guarantees an environment-friendly production. We only allow fabrics produced per the REACH Regulation, which protects the environment and human health from the risks of chemical substances.
Natural Environmental Considerations
Concern for the environment, transition to sustainable energy, and reduction of climate footprint are all natural parts of Warm Nordic's core values.Warm Nordic is a subsidiary of Danish Management Group, which, among other things, operates a sustainable energy consultancy (Danish Energy Management) and owns wind turbines and biogas plants. Warm Nordic is self-sufficient in utilizing green energy and reduces energy consumption for the consumer's benefit.
Warm Nordic aims to increase its share of reusable materials. This includes the entire product line.
Warm Nordic mainly collaborates with European suppliers because it is our ambition that products should be made close to home to reduce our environmental impact and CO2 emissions from transport. We will always strive to keep production local whenever the production facilities and economy allow us to realize our mission of providing reasonably priced, sustainable quality design.
Prescott Leather:
Prescott leather has pigmented surface treatment. It has superior fade-resistance over a less processed material like aniline leather. It is easy to maintain and resistant to most stains and dirt.Regular cleaning:
Clean with a vacuum cleaner fitted with a soft mouthpiece. Surface-treated leather can be wiped with a clean, lint-free cloth wrung out in water. Remove stains and liquids immediately to avoid penetrating the material and leaving marks.
Maintenance:
Pigmented leather should be treated regularly with a care product for the type of leather in question. The care product protects the surface of the leather against dirt and stains and keeps the leather soft and pliable. We recommend using Stressless Leather Cleaner and Conditioner 3-4 times a year.
Regular Cleaning:
Clean with a vacuum cleaner fitted with a soft mouthpiece. Aniline leather can be wiped with a dry, lint-free cloth. Never use water, as this will leave marks. Always remove stains and liquids immediately, although penetration of the material will probably prove unavoidable.

Textiles
The textiles used on Warm Nordic’s products come from leading textile manufacturers and are all high quality.Regular Cleaning:
Upholstered furniture should be vacuumed often with a soft mouthpiece specifically designed for furniture. Always remove stains and liquids immediately to avoid these penetrating the material and leaving marks. You can lightly brush velvet textiles after vacuuming with a hard cloth brush.
Textiles can be treated with upholstery protection to great advantage, substantially minimizing the risk of stains.
Stain removal:
Stains and spilled liquids should be removed immediately by dabbing with kitchen tissue or a dry, lint-free cloth. Stains that are not greasy can be removed by gently patting them with a clean, lint-free cloth or sponge dampened with warm water. The stain should be agitated from the edge working towards the middle with clean, lint-free cloths. Do not rub, as this may damage the textile. You can dry the damp spot easily with a hairdryer on a low setting. Many stains require special treatment.
For difficult stains, we recommend the use of Guardian Textile Cleaner.
No one detergent can remove all types of stains. This guide does not cover specific colors, so it may be necessary to seek the aid of your furniture retailer.
You can treat these marks of wear and tear as follows: Take a clean, white (not colored), warm, damp (not wet) piece of cloth and lay it several hours or a night over the velvet. The moisture will restore the cotton velvet. Velvet upholstery should not be used before it is thoroughly dried.
General Advice for Solid Oak and Walnut
- The Cow Horn Chair is from sustainable oiled oak and/or walnut - please maintain with an oil treatment.
- Do not cover with material, as whole or partial coverage with blankets or cushions for long periods can cause differences in the hue and coloration of the fabric.
- Avoid placing furniture close to solid fuel stoves and radiators, as the heat source may dry out the wood and cause the formation of cracks.
- Do not stand on the furniture or sit on the back or armrest - while they may hold weight, chairs are not designed to accommodate concentrated weight in any areas.
Oiled Oak and/or Walnut
Oak and walnut are natural materials and, for this reason, may vary in coloration and structure. Oiled wood has a warm glow, which achieves a beautiful patina with regular maintenance.Regular cleaning:
To be wiped with a clean, lint-free cloth wrung out in warm water. Wipe with a dry cloth.
Do not use dish soap or other detergents to clean; do not use abrasives such as scouring creams, steel wool, or scouring sponges, as these will cause scratches and drying.
Maintenance:
We recommend that the surface be treated regularly with an oil specially designed for oil-treated furniture, such as Nordicare Teak Oil.
Scratches:
Small scratches can be bettered by sanding the wood in the direction of the grain with fine-grit sandpaper (220 or higher). Following sanding, repeat the oil treatment as described above.
Please note that the cloth used with petroleum-based oil can self-ignite. It must be disposed of or kept in an air-tight bag or container.
You can also use Nordicare Teak Oil to remove oak and walnut wood stains.
Warm Nordic has chosen materials that age beautifully, but please be aware that all materials change their nature over time when exposed to light, dust, and use.
Hans Olsen
Hans Olsen's remarkable designs from the 1950s are vivid examples of the beautiful diversity of Danish Modernism. This Danish architect and industrial designer took on the classic virtues of the Academy of Fine Arts and the great master, Kaare Klint. Still, he opted for a more playful and experimental approach to furniture design. Hans Olsen challenged contemporary production methods, and much of his inspiration came from the opportunities offered by molding wood. Hans Olsen's refusal to compromise in terms of comfort, functionality, and aesthetics is his trademark, and his iconic design attracts just as much attention today as it did back then. After consultation with Hans Olsen's family, Warm Nordic will uphold the design legacy of this great architect.
